From Side Hustle to Strategic Partnership

 

Collabovate didn't start as a consulting firm - it emerged from two decades of pattern recognition across organizational systems. Armed with entrepreneurial ambition and a Business Management degree, I set out to become what I called "the baddest business woman on the planet." That journey took me through Fortune 500 operations at companies like Coca-Cola, small business management, higher education administration, and nonprofit founding - each experience revealing how human capital systems either accelerate or constrain organizational potential.

The real breakthrough came when I noticed the gap between business strategy and human development. My children's educational experiences highlighted how systems could either unlock or limit individual potential, which sparked a strategic pivot into education. This wasn't just career diversification - it was systems integration. Combining business operations expertise with organizational development created a unique lens for solving complex human capital challenges.

 

What started as keynote speaking and coaching evolved into something more strategic. By 2013, I was consulting on organizational transformation, and each engagement revealed the same pattern: organizations that authentically aligned individual contribution with business objectives consistently outperformed those using traditional approaches. The scale and sophistication of requests grew year after year.

The name "Collabovate" crystallized during a 2018 conference preparation. While designing a strategic learning framework, I realized that meaningful organizational change requires two essential elements: genuine collaboration to understand existing systems, and elevation of thinking to create better ones. The play on words captured both the methodology and the mindset of a strategic partnership that transforms organizational performance.

What began as a "side hustle" became my primary focus because clients kept returning with bigger, more complex challenges. They weren't just buying facilitation or training - they were investing in systematic organizational transformation that delivered measurable results.
